Route: Route initially goes along the main road for a short while (750m) before taking the first footpath on the right past the aptly named ‘hoddy cows’ the route then hugs the coast along a path which is likely to be muddy but with some dramatic cliff top views, the route stays high for a couple of kilometres before descending on a VERY ROUGH path, this part is a bit of a slippery clamber and care should be taken, once on the beach its plain sailing and hopefully with a tail wind to drive us towards the fish and chip shop in Filey. Trail Leaders Suggestion: Try barefoot running on the beach and if your not swimming (see below) on reaching Filey try standing in the sea to give those pins a little refresh!
Surface: Road 5%, Public Footpath 30%, Sand 65%
Mud Factor: 15-20% Muddy. The rest Mud free! Its hard flat sand and very suitable for running on.
