A pleasant trail run through the forest, visit the lakes, and enjoy the view across to Ampleforth on this hilly but worthwhile trail.

Meet: 6:30pm for a 6:45pm step-off
Distance/Duration: 1 Hour – 2 Routes
Where: Yearsley Forest Main Entrance off main road.
Parking: Adequate parking on entrance road into the forest.
Cost: £2 Per Runner.
Terrain: A challenging rugged route with plenty of climbs and descents.
Route: Surprise ! Maps not required. – A mixture of forest tracks and woodland paths. There are hills here!
Trail leaders recommendation: Choose the long route for stunning vistas across to Ampleforth and a visit to the lakes.
Surface: Forest Trail 70-80%, Public Footpath 20-30%
Mud Factor: 20% Just Muddy 80% Mud free!
Highlights: Views towards Ampleforth, Forest canopy and woodland birds, lakes at the foothills and a few interesting undulating paths make this a stunning and unique venue.
Difficulty Rating: Medium, the hills make this a tough route but running surface is excellent.
Escape Route: The forest offers ample opportunity to cut the route short and make your way back to the vehicles.
