What is TRY Challenge?

On 15th January 2019, in Run Info, by Trailblazer

Ahead of our 2019 challenge details being released tomorrow (Wednesday), please read below to find out more about TRY, and our challenge events. Happy Running!

Trail Running Yorkshire (TRY) is an off road running community which aims to explore the wilderness using the medium of running.

TRY challenge aims to foster a team spirit, where runners assist each other in completing their common goal. The small team (maximum of ten) has access to a group discussion for advice and assistance, as well as having the option to attend training days, and talks prior to the event. There is also the option to obtain sponsorship for a chosen charity, which will be discussed further at training events.

Furthermore, the route and runners are fully supported, which includes a guide, support crew, travel, luggage transfer, most meals and a nice warm bed at the end of each day! This leaves you free to just run and enjoy your fast packing adventure!

The TRY Challenge initially started in 2017 when we took on the Northumberland Coast Path. Last year we used a support boat to tackle the Great Glen Way, and this year we are looking to accomplish Wainwrights iconic coast to coast.

The Coast to Coast is 192miles long, spanning three national parks, and taking in a variety of environments. Therefore it is the the perfect environment for this years TRY challenge event! and we are very excited at releasing the full trip details tomorrow! 😃

Stay tuned to get the details, ahead of the booking window which opens on Saturday. Go on all you have to do is give it a TRY?!
