Join us for a mini adventure, Meet at Filey Station 10am, catch the train to ; and run back along the cliffs and beach, fish chips and icecream afterwards

Date: Saturday 7th May 2016

Meet: 9:45am at Filey Station – Train leaves 10:15am.

Distance/Duration: 2 Hour – approx. 15k (ish).

Where: Train to Bempton, then a coastal run back to Filey

Parking: Filey Station (Start) or Filey Sea Front (Finish)

Cost: £5 Train Fare. £2 Per Runner.

Terrain: Flat but mixed path, beach and a little pavement. A longer slightly more challenging route.

Route: Route initially goes along the main road for a short while (750m) before taking the first footpath on the right past the aptly named ‘hoddy cows’ the route then hugs the coast along a path which is likely to be muddy but with some dramatic cliff top views, the route stays high for a couple of kilometres  before descending on a VERY ROUGH path, this part is a bit of a slippery clamber and care should be taken, once on the beach its plain sailing and hopefully with a tail wind to drive us towards the fish and chip shop in Filey. Trail Leaders Suggestion: Try barefoot running on the beach and if your not swimming (see below) on reaching Filey try standing in the sea to give those pins a little refresh!

Surface: Road 5%, Public Footpath 30%, Sand 65%

Mud Factor: 15-20% Muddy. The rest Mud free! Its hard flat sand and very suitable for running on.

Highlights: A mini adventure, cliff top views, sea birds and the chance to see an early Puffin, followed by beach running and open vistas.

Tide Times: – So you’ve plenty of time to make your way along the beach….
