T.R.Y: Byland Abbey Run Roundup

Thanks everyone that came out to play tonight. A very hilly, scenic, hilly, beautiful, hilly set of routes. Did I mention hilly?

44 runners tonight across four groups.

Group 1: The hardcore Ultra-Marathon route (unchartered and unplanned but excellent hill training fellas) that took on the mighty Wass Bank.

Group 2: The Long 9k route, following the pre-marked route and backed up by the print maps 😬 Which headed out to Cockerdale Wood and back through Oldstead Grange.

Group 3: The Short 6.5k route, following the same marked and mapped route as the long route and then splitting off left heading direct to Oldstead, and then a nice gentle run back along the edge of the wood to the Abbey.

Group 4: The countryside tourists, who managed to get themselves to within 1.5k of the finish before deciding that Coxwold would be a nice village to visit on a summers-evening trail run 😂 It certainly proved our signing in and out system, and everyone made it back to the start, still happy and smiling. Well done for getting the extra mileage in and getting all adventurous 😆

Here’s a few snaps…
