OSmap

Route starts at 18:45. Please arrive from 18.30 especially if you have not been before and have yet to submit a disclaimer and parq form.

Join us for a swim beforehand at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park. 5.30pm

Short and Long Routes available.

Route Description: Short and long both follow a byway out from behind the pub which turns into a nice bridlepath to Allerthorpe common woodland. Once in the woodland after hugging the southern end of the forest the short route then heads north for a lap of the woodland before returning via the same route.

The Long route then heads either through an obvious gate to connect with adjoining footpath (shorter) or stays on the Bridlepath to the carpark turning left onto the road for 500m before taking the first footpath on the left (as above). The return is then on a well defined footpath and track through Waplington Hall.

Route is fairly easy to follow but those who require a map please print out from the link for annotation at the start.

Trail leaders recommendation: Choose the short route to experience more of the forest, and the long route for more variety. Join us for a swim beforehand at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park. 5.30pm
