Meet Coxwold Village near the Fauconberg Arms GR535771

Route Starts at 18.45. 
Please arrive from 18.30 especially if you have not been before and have yet to submit a disclaimer and parq form. (Note from this week we will be operating a new system so if you can get there early and want to run straightaway we will be departing with a group from 18.30 to make the most of the light).
Parking: Car park is in and around the village, as ever please park responsibly and carefully, car sharing where possible.
Route:  Long and short routes available.
Both routes
1. From the pub head out of the village down the bank to the cross roads turn right signposted towards Husthwaite
2. After 50m and at the end of the village turn right onto the dismantled railway line follow for 2k.On reaching the road the route splits.

Short route

3. Turn right then after 500m turn first right into Angram Hall
4. Bear left then right through the farm buildings staying on the obvious main track towards Coxwold Park House, please walk through the field of horses.
5. Just before Coxwold Park House bear off the track and follow the footpath around to the left of the house, follow the obvious pathway through field systems for 2k.
6. On reaching the road turn right and 50m downhill to arrive back at the pub.

Long Route
3. Turn left onto the road follow for 600m to Husthwaite
4. At junction turn right, for 50m then straight on a next road junction uphill for another 50m before turning left onto Bridleway at Beacon Banks.
5. Follow Bridleway for 2k enjoying fine views and the alapaca farm!
6. On reaching road turn left and follow through farm (High Leys) this road looks a lot like a farm track.
7. After about 1k and at next road junction turn left and stick to footpath alongside road enjoying views of Newburgh Priory and the lake.Drinks afterwards in the Fauconberg Arms http://www.fauconbergarms.com/

Surface: Road 10% Tracks 30% Footpath 70%
Mud Factor: Very little this is a fast route with good surface throughout
Highlights: This is a brilliant little route, boasting a nice little railway line, an alapaca farm and fine views across the moors this late season favourite is a brilliant opportunity to test your legs with little navigation skills required.
Difficulty Rating: Easy, this is a route for speed, there are some hills on the longer route but a great one to test your legs on
Escape Route: Either back to Coxwold or depending on location to Husthwaite village which also has a telephone
Hazards: Short road sections which although quiet should be ran in single file on the right, on short route there are horses in the field between Angram Hall and Coxwold Park House, please walk through this short field.
