The Bempton to Filey Misty Trail Challenge

Saturday saw a hardy bunch of 9 take on the Bempton to Filey “can’t see you’re hand in front of your face” Trail Challenge!

After forecasts of an early sea mist burning off by mid-morning we were expecting a glorious day, but were greeted with a headwind and 10 meter visibility.

We took the train from Filey to Bempton and took what would have been a very scenic route back to Filey along the cliff tops for around 9K before descending on to the beach and running the rest of the way back to Filey.

There were a wide mix of running speeds and abilities, but everyone made it back and (so we are told) enjoyed the day.

There were a few highlights – such as the train conductor having to stand and hold the doors closed due to a “technical issue”, obviously the thick mist, bumping in to Sean Conway as he set out on the 800 mile run leg of his 4000 mile round the UK Triathlon, and of course lets not forget the jug of water in the chippy as we all refuelled!

Thank you to everyone that braved it, we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Below is a selection of pictures taken by the runners.

See you next time!
